The founder of our Order is Pir Nureddin al-Jerrahi al-Halveti, may his soul be sanctified. He was born the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal, in the year 1089 Hijrah (c. May 4, 1678), in Istanbul, Turkey.

Muzaffer Efendi, r.a.
Muzaffer Ozak Efendi al-Jerrahi al-Halveti, r.a., was born in 1916; he passed into the Realm of Beauty in 1985.
By trade he was the owner of a bookstore for rare manuscripts and books, occupied the office of muezzin and imam, and preached, at several mosques in Istanbul.
Grand Sheikh of the Order between 1966 and 1985. He is responsible for the spreading of Sufism to a sector of the world that was unaware of its existence, mainly throughout North America and Europe.
Prolific author of several very important books, such as: Irshad, Unveiling of Love, The Garden of Dervishes, Adornments of the Hearts, and many others.
Also authored several Illahis (poems set to music). He was known for his regal presence, the powerful Dhikr ceremonies he lead, his good sense of humour, and his masterly dream interpretations, among many other beautiful character traits.

Sefer Efendi, r.a.
Sefer Dal Efendi al-Jerrahi al-Halveti, r.a., was born in the year 1929 and he passed into the Realm of Beauty in the year 1998. He succeeded Muzaffer Efendi, r.a., as Grand Sheikh of the Order. He continued the expansion of Sufism, and of our Order throughout Europe and the American continent (North and South America).
He also authored many illahis (poems set to music), as well as being responsible for the gathering, compiling and revival of thousands of illahis that were in existence but somewhat disorganized or forgotten until that time.
He was an extraordinary man, loved by everyone; his main character trait was a tremendous sweet love for everyone that came in contact with him.
